Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PML-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif extended their congratulations to Hafiz Abdul Karim for his victory in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senate Elections.

The Prime Minister appreciated his political character and continuous services, while Nawaz Sharif acknowledged Hafiz Abdul Karim’s political insight and said that his victory was the result of the PML-N’s principled stance and unity.

In the election for the vacant Senate seat in the Punjab Assembly, PML-N candidate Dr. Hafiz Abdul Karim won with a huge majority.

According to the unconfirmed, unofficial results, 245 votes were cast out of a total of 368, of which Hafiz Abdul Karim secured 243 votes while the opposition candidate Abdul Sattar could get only 99 votes. Three votes were rejected.

This seat fell vacant due to the death of senior PML-N leader Professor Sajid Mir. During the election, both the government and the opposition members fully followed the instructions of their leadership. This victory of the PML-N on this Senate seat is being considered a major political victory for the party.

Newly elected Senator Hafiz Abdul Karim thanked the party leadership and said that this trust is an honor for him, and he will effectively highlight the issues of the country and the nation in the Upper House.

He said that he will continue to consider public service as his mission and will highlight the manifesto of his party at every forum.
