Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on Monday filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court against the Adiala jail superintendent for not providing him due facilities in the jail.

The former prime minister approached the high court through lawyers Zaheer Abbas, Usman Gul, and Khalid Yousuf, requesting better-class jail facilities.

The petition stated that the Adiala Jail superintendent has obstructed the provision of jail facilities. It claims that access to newspapers, TV, and exercise equipment has been denied.

Hurdles were being created in the provision of personal clothing and bedding, it said. Moreover, obstacles were being created in check-ups by the personal physician, the petition claimed.

Furthermore, the arrangements approved by the court for a medical panel are also being violated, it alleged.

In his petition, the PTI founder said that the electricity supply in the prison is being cut off without justification.

Despite court orders, he is not being allowed to talk to his sons abroad, he maintained and requested the court to appoint an officer to ensure the provision of facilities.
