Three terrorists killed in CTD operation in Quetta suburbs
At least three terrorists were killed in an operation conducted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Dasht area of Quetta on Monday.
Ammunition and weapons were also recovered from the slain terrorists, a CTD spokesperson said.
According to the spokesperson, the suspects, who belong to a banned outfit, were involved in serious crimes, including the murder of Musawar Kakar, a child painter.
The spokesperson said the successful operation was carried out after receiving credible information, adding the slain terrorists belonged to a banned religious organisation.
The spokesperson said an arrested suspect, who was involved in the murder of young artist Muswar Kakar, was brought to identify his accomplices.
As soon as the team raided the terrorists’ hideout in Dasht, the suspects opened fire. The CTD personnel fought back vigorously.
In the ensuing encounter, the suspect was killed by his accomplices, while two of his accomplices were also killed in the return fire, the spokesperson added.
The spokesperson said that the three terrorists were wanted in various terrorist incidents, murder, attempted murder and other serious cases.
During the operation, a large quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the terrorists’ hideout.
