BNP chief Akhtar Mengal stopped from going abroad
Senior politician and head of the Balochistan National Party (BNP) Sardar Akhtar Mengal was stopped from travelling abroad on Saturday. He was on his way to Dubai from Quetta Airport.
Akhtar Mengal, who was also the former chief minister of Balochistan, was offloaded from a private airline flight bound for Dubai at Quetta Airport.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials stated that Mengal was stopped because his name is on the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL).
Reacting to the episode, Akhtar Mengal said: “I was going to Dubai, but I was offloaded.”
In a statement posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), he said that the immigration staff informed him that his name is on the Provisional National Identification List.
