Opposition moves PHC over KP reserved seat oath delay
The opposition has approached the Peshawar High Court (PHC), filing a petition against a delay is administering the oath of members elected on reserved seats in the Khyber Pakhtun Khwa assembly.
In this regard, the petition has been submitted by the PPP and other opposition parties to the Registrar of the High Court.
According to Additional Secretary General PPP Abrar Saeed, this is a constitutional matter and not administering oath to elected members is a violation of fundamental democratic rights.
The petition has taken the position that the members who succeeded on reserved seats have still been deprived of oath-taking, which is against constitutional and parliamentary traditions.
