Security forces capture five suicide bombers at Pak-Afghan border
Security forces successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt by militants at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, capturing five alleged suicide bombers who had taken shelter in a mosque.
The detained suspects are Afghan nationals. Responding to intelligence, the forces set up checkpoints at five different locations.
On July 17, militants attempted to enter Pakistani territory at 5pm, advancing toward Aziz Khel and Mandi Khel by 6:25pm. The forces quickly encircled the militants hiding in a mosque in Baisi Khel, employing a coordinated strategy that resulted in the terrorists’ surrender.
The captured individuals, aged between 15 and 18, include three who possess Afghan identification cards. They have been transferred to an undisclosed location for further questioning, while security operations in the area continue.
Security sources indicate that multiple infiltration attempts along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border have been thwarted in recent months.
A major operation conducted from April 25 to 27, led to the deaths of 71 militants, and another attempt on July 4 resulted in 30 militants being killed, linked to Indian-backed terrorist activities. Additionally, 16 militants were killed in a similar event on March 23.
Authorities assert that these militants receive full support from India, which aims to destabilize Pakistan. However, security forces remain alert and ready to confront any potential threats.
