Govt, sugar mill owners finalize deal; Rates will rise gradually
Prices to reach Rs171 per kilogram by October
The federal government and the Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA) have reached a consensus over the sugar prices.
According to the agreement ex-mill price of sugar over the next three months will rise from the current Rs165 to Rs171 per kilogram.
The ex-mill price of sugar will be increased by Rs2 per kg each month. Starting from July 15, 2025, the ex-mill price has been fixed at Rs165 per kg. It will rise to Rs167 on August 15, Rs169 on September 15, and finally reach Rs171 per kg on October 15.
The deal was finalised by Federal Minister Rana Tanveer on behalf of the government and signed by PSMA Secretary General Imran Ahmed.
