Two women lost their lives and three others, including a child, sustained serious injuries after the roof of a residential building collapsed near Khada Market in Lyari.

The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Baghdadi police station.

According to SSP City Arif Aziz, the accident took place on the fifth or sixth floor of the building, where the roof suddenly collapsed.

As soon as the information about the roof collapse was received, police and rescue teams immediately reached the spot and shifted the injured to the Civil Hospital.

According to hospital sources, the body of the deceased woman has been shifted to the Civil Hospital while the injured are being provided medical assistance.

Residents of the area have demanded that the relevant authorities conduct a survey of dangerous buildings in the city so that such tragic accidents can be avoided in the future.
