The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Lahore has issued a summons to Aleema Khan, the sister of Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, regarding accusations of engaging in anti-state activities on social media.

Sources indicate that Aleema Khan has been directed to appear in person at the NCCIA office in Gulberg-II, Lahore, on July 17 at 11:30am.

This action is being taken under inquiry number 2531/25 dated May 27, which alleges that Aleema Khan has been involved in promoting anti-state narratives through social media platforms.

The notice clarifies that the purpose of the summons is to record Aleema Khan’s statement so that she can present her defense. It also warned that if she fails to appear at the scheduled time, it will be considered as her having nothing to say in her defense, and legal proceedings will be advanced in case of her absence.

Furthermore, the notice states that if Aleema Khan does not comply with the NCCIA’s instructions, actions may be taken against her under Section 174 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which pertains to disobeying government orders.

It is noteworthy that the NCCIA is a federal agency operating under the Ministry of Interior, tasked with monitoring and investigating online activities against state institutions and national security. Aleema Khan has not responded to the notice.
