Quetta: Three women injured in remote-controlled bomb blast in Hazarganji area
A powerful explosion was heard at Quetta’s Hazarganji area, caused by a remote-controlled bomb planted in a motorcycle, which injured three women on Wednesday.
According to police officials, an improvised explosive device (IED) weighing between one to one-and-a-half kilograms was detonated using a remote-control device.
The blast caused panic in the area, as security forces and a heavy contingent of police swiftly arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area. Forensic teams began collecting evidence, while the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) launched a search operation to rule out the presence of any additional threats.
Officials from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) also reached the site and are leading the investigation into the incident.
Police stated that the exact target of the attack has not yet been determined, and law enforcement agencies are investigating the incident from all possible angles.
No group has claimed responsibility for the bombing so far.
