The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Karachi South heard a petition filed by a citizen to register a case regarding the recovery of actress Humaira Asghar’s body from her house, in which the court sought a post-mortem report from the investigating officer.

The SP Complaint Cell, during the hearing, submitted the report to the court and informed that an investigation team has been formed under the leadership of SP Clifton, which has so far recorded the statements of several people. However, according to the report, no clear progress or success has been achieved so far.

According to police report, the family of the deceased is also being investigated, while after obtaining DNA and other scientific samples, the body has been handed over to the heirs after completing the legal proceedings.

The petitioner took the stand that Humaira Asghar’s death was not natural but suspicious, which raises suspicion of murder. The petition has taken the stand that after watching the video of the incident, it appears that the actress was murdered, while the police have also described the incident as worrisome.

The petition further states that Humaira Asghar was an influential media personality, and her family’s disassociation from her is also surprising, which requires a thorough investigation. The court was requested to include the actress’s family in the investigation and register a case and investigate from all possible angles legally.

It should be noted that the court had issued a notice to the SP Complaint Cell at the previous hearing, while SSP South and SHO Gizri have also been made parties in this case. The court has sought more details from the police at the next hearing.
