Govt keeps petroleum levy unchanged despite fuel price hike
Step aims to maintain govt revenue streams
The federal government has opted to maintain the petroleum development levy at its existing rates, even as petrol and diesel prices have risen in recent days.
Sources confirmed that the levy remains unchanged at Rs75.52 per litre for petrol and Rs74.51 per litre for diesel.
According to officials, the move is intended to sustain government revenue streams and support fiscal stability.
They added that the latest increase in fuel prices, implemented without adjusting the levy, is primarily a result of volatility in international oil markets.
