Field Marshal Asim Munir meets Indonesian defence minister: ISPR
Indonesia’s Minister of Defence, Lieutenant General Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin (Retd), met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), at the General Headquarters, Rawalpindi, on Tuesday, accompanied by a delegation comprising representatives from various services and intelligence agencies.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting featured an exchange of views on “bilateral defence collaboration, regional security dynamics and avenues to further strengthen military ties.”
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening defence cooperation and enhancing strategic ties.
The ISPR added that the discussion “underscored the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two countries.”
Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted the importance of mutual cooperation in maintaining peace and stability in the region.“
During the meeting, the Indonesian defence minister “appreciated the role of the Pakistan Army in the fight against terrorism and reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to enhancing defence relations with Pakistan.”
