A new wave of monsoon rains has swept across the country, leading to heavy downpours in various districts of Punjab.

Cities including Lahore, Sadiqabad, Kot Addu, Kamalia, Rajanpur, Khanpur, and Sahiwal are experiencing intermittent heavy rain, which has resulted in flooding in low-lying areas.

Additionally, multiple electricity feeders have tripped, causing power outages.

The Met Office forecasts that this rainfall will persist until July 17 and has warned of potential flooding in rivers and low-lying regions. Water levels in the Chenab River and Tarbela Dam are rising, prompting authorities to maintain heightened alertness.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued precautionary guidelines to relevant agencies to prepare for any emergencies that may arise.

In Tunsa Sharif, several connecting bridges have been submerged due to flooding in the Indus River.

Local residents report that the administration has not yet established flood relief camps, leaving many affected individuals to seek shelter outdoors.

Met Office experts are advising the public to avoid unnecessary travel, take safety precautions if living in low-lying areas, and stay in contact with local authorities.
