In a significant move towards scientific collaboration, the University of Sargodha (UoS), Pakistan, and China’s Zaozhuang School of Technology (ZST) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a joint research centre on lithium batteries at the University of Sargodha.

Recognising the strategic importance of lithium battery technologies in advancing clean energy and mobility solutions, both institutions have agreed to collaborate across a wide range of research and academic activities, China Economic Net reported on Sunday.

Under the MoU, the two institutions will facilitate faculty and researcher exchanges, student training programmes, joint supervision, and the organisation of seminars and workshops.

The partnership also aims to promote collaborative research, patent development, and the launch of academic programs to strengthen capacity building in this critical sector.

To ensure effective implementation of the cooperation framework, a joint coordination committee will be established with equal representation from both institutions.

The committee will meet annually to review progress and explore new avenues for collaboration
