Two suspected criminals killed in separate encounters in Lahore
Two suspected criminals were killed in separate police encounters in Lahore’s Shadbagh and Kahna Nau areas, according to the Crime Control Department (CCD).
Authorities say both individuals were involved in serious crimes, including robbery, theft, shop break-ins, and previous armed confrontations with police.
The bodies of both suspects were transferred to the morgue after the completion of legal procedures. Authorities have confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
First encounter
The first incident took place in Shadbagh, where police had taken a suspect named Dilshad into custody and were escorting him for a crime scene identification.
During the operation, unidentified gunmen believed to be Dilshad’s accomplices opened fire on the police team.
In the exchange of gunfire, Dilshad was critically injured. He later died while being transported to the hospital.
CCD officials described Dilshad as a dangerous and habitual offender, wanted by Lahore police in connection with more than 170 criminal cases.
Second encounter
The second encounter occurred in the Kahna area, where another suspect, Rohail Masih, also known as Sunny.
He was being transported for evidence recovery.
During the operation, four armed individuals on two motorcycles ambushed the police vehicle and opened fire. In the resulting exchange, Masih was fatally shot, reportedly by gunfire from his accomplices.
According to CCD, Rouhail Masih was also wanted in several cases involving robbery, theft, shop robberies, and armed resistance to law enforcement.
