Monsoon rains have drenched the entire country, disrupting daily life in several cities due to heavy downpours.

More torrential rain has been forecast for today in Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and Azad Kashmir, while low-lying areas have already been submerged.

Yesterday’s rains caused various accidents, leaving two people dead, including a woman, and injuring 31 others. Lahore was the most affected city, where 182 millimeters of rain flooded roads and neighborhoods. In different areas, incidents of electrocution, collapsing walls, and slippery roads claimed three lives and injured eight people.

The Met Office has predicted more rain over the next 24 hours, while the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert, advising citizens to take precautionary measures.

The municipal authorities and district administration have launched emergency operations to drain water from low-lying areas and provide immediate relief to affected residents.

However, traffic flow has been severely disrupted in many places, causing immense difficulties for the public.

Weather experts warn that this monsoon spell may continue over the coming days, urging people to remain extra cautious.
