ACC chief Mohsin Naqvi summons annual general meeting on July 24 in Dhaka
Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi has summoned the council’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on July 24 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, after a long hiatus.
According to sources, the meeting is being called to decide the future of the Asia Cup, among other key matters. The ACC has formally issued meeting notices to all member countries. The gathering coincides with the Pakistan-Bangladesh cricket series, and participating nations are expected to be present in the region.
However, sources say that India and Sri Lanka have raised concerns, requesting that the venue and date be changed, and have proposed holding the meeting elsewhere.
Despite the request, the ACC is firm on holding the meeting in Dhaka, with a 15-day notice period issued to ensure ample preparation time. If any member nation is unable to attend in person, the option of online participation will be provided, as has been the practice in previous ACC and ICC meetings.
The AGM is expected to address crucial administrative and tournament-related decisions, making it a significant gathering for the future roadmap of Asian cricket.
