PM Shehbaz meets Turkish foreign, defence ministers; commits to deepen bilateral ties
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday held a high-level meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Minister of National Defence Yasar Guler to discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye.
The meeting was also attended by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, and National Security Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Muhammad Asim Malik, along with other senior officials.
Welcoming the Turkish delegation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Türkiye relations and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to enhancing cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, defence, and technology.
The Prime Minister invited Turkish companies to expand their investment footprint in Pakistan and emphasised the importance of strengthening ties built on shared history, culture, and mutual respect.
He underlined the need for boosting bilateral collaboration, noting that Pakistan greatly values its historic and strategic partnership with Türkiye.
The Turkish ministers also reaffirmed their country’s interest in deepening cooperation with Pakistan and appreciated Islamabad’s efforts to strengthen regional peace and economic stability.
