Gandapur criticises government departments, TMA’s performance
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Wednesday expressed strong dissatisfaction with the performance of his own government departments, specifically the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA).
Speaking at the inauguration of the Ring Road Link in Peshawar, Gandapur stated that working with TMA is one of the most difficult tasks because many of its employees were hired through recommendations rather than merit.
The chief minister made it clear that creating new tehsils or districts would not automatically lead to development unless there is a focus on improving basic services and institutional efficiency.
He cited the example of Dera Ismail Khan, where he pointed out that despite being an important constituency, the area has yet to have a government college.
He remarked that the representatives from the area who failed to secure such basic facilities for the public should be taken to task for their lack of service to the people.
Gandapur emphasised the need for institutional reforms and infrastructure improvements to ensure sustainable development in the province.
