Election process begins for women’s reserved seats in KP Assembly
The election process to fill two vacant women’s reserved seats from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the National Assembly has formally begun.
According to the Election Commission, candidates can submit their nomination papers starting today, with the deadline set for July 10.
Sources report that a preliminary list of candidates will be released on July 11, followed by the scrutiny of nomination papers, which is scheduled to conclude by July 14.
Candidates will have until July 17 to file appeals challenging the acceptance or rejection of their papers.
The final list of contesting candidates is expected to be published on July 24.
Sources also indicated that the Pakistan Muslim League (N) is likely to submit a priority list of its preferred candidates for these seats.
