Middle East tensions have surged as Israel reports the targeted killing of senior Hamas commander Mehran Mustafa Bajour in a Lebanon airstrike.

According to Israeli military statements, drones struck the coastal city of Tripoli, where Bajar was allegedly coordinating rocket attacks.

Meanwhile, Yemen’s Houthi rebels carried out a significant assault in the Red Sea, destroying a Greek-owned cargo vessel. Video released by the Houthis shows the moment of the explosion.

Rebel leaders said the ship was targeted because of its business ties with Israel. Following the attack, the vessel’s crew was evacuated safely to Djibouti.

In Gaza, Israeli bombardment has continued without letup. Arab media report that aid camps, shelters, and residential neighborhoods have been subjected to intense airstrikes.

Over the past 24 hours alone, at least 105 Palestinians have been killed and 356 injured.

According to hospitals and humanitarian agencies, the total death toll in Gaza since the start of the offensive has reached 57,575, with 136,879 wounded. Many of the casualties are reported to be women and children.
