Any Indian misadventure will be met with a response beyond imagination, says Field Marshal Asim Munir
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has warned that any Indian misadventure or attempt to undermine Pakistan’s sovereignty will receive a forceful and disproportionate response.
He made these remarks during his visit to the National Defence University (NDU) in Islamabad, where he addressed the graduating officers of the “National Security and War Course.”
The course was attended by officers from all three branches of the armed forces.
In his address, the army chief highlighted the evolving nature of warfare, emphasising the importance of mental preparedness, operational clarity, and institutional professionalism in navigating complex strategic challenges.
He praised the role of institutions like NDU in nurturing future military leadership capable of effectively countering hybrid, conventional, and non-traditional threats, and stressed the need to enhance civil-military synergy.
Referring to India’s “Operation Sindoor,” Field Marshal Asim Munir stated that India failed to achieve its stated military objectives, and its attempt to justify that failure through convoluted reasoning only reflects its operational weaknesses and strategic failure.
He dismissed India’s accusations of foreign support in Pakistan’s successful “Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos” as irresponsible and factually incorrect, adding that such claims underscore India’s longstanding reluctance to acknowledge Pakistan’s indigenous capabilities and institutional strength, built over decades of strategic planning.
Field Marshal Asim Munir further criticised India’s attempts to drag other states into a bilateral military conflict, calling it a desperate ploy rooted in flawed political posturing.
He asserted that India’s false narrative of being a regional “net security provider” is collapsing, especially as regional nations grow weary of New Delhi’s aggressive posture and extremist Hindutva ideology.
In contrast, Pakistan, he said, has built enduring partnerships through principled diplomacy based on mutual respect and peace, and has consistently played the role of a regional stabiliser.
Reiterating Pakistan’s unwavering stance, the COAS said: “Any attempt to violate Pakistan’s sovereignty or territorial integrity will be met with an immediate, forceful, and unequivocal response.”
He warned that if the enemy dares to target civilian areas, military installations, economic hubs, or ports, the retaliation will be intense, deeply painful, and far more severe than anticipated.
He held India solely responsible for any resulting escalation, saying that its arrogance, aggression, and failure to grasp the consequences of provoking a sovereign nuclear state could lead to disastrous outcomes.
“Wars are not won with media spin, imported weaponry, or political slogans,” the Field Marshal said.
“They are won with unshakeable faith, professional excellence, operational clarity, institutional strength, and national resolve.”
He expressed complete confidence in the professionalism, morale, and preparedness of Pakistan’s armed forces, and urged the graduating officers to remain steadfast in the values of honesty, selfless service, and unflinching commitment to the nation.
