Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti on Sunday visited the Central Police Office in Quetta to review the security arrangements in place for Youm-e-Ashura.

The chief minister was accompanied by Corps Commander Balochistan Lieutenant General Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan and other senior officials.

During the visit, Bugti inspected the monitoring room and received a detailed briefing on the deployment of forces and surveillance strategies.

He emphasised that law enforcement agencies must remain on high alert and warned that even minor negligence in duty would not be tolerated.

He instructed officials to closely monitor the movement of suspicious elements and ensure effective surveillance of procession routes, sensitive areas, and entry points to the city.

“Security forces must operate with complete coordination, and foolproof arrangements must be in place for processions, gatherings, and public spaces,” the chief minister stated, adding that maintaining law and order is a shared responsibility of the government, security institutions, and citizens.

Bugti reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring peace and security throughout the province during Muharram, particularly on Ashura.
