Pakistan to publicize assets of Grade 17 and above officers under key IMF condition
The federal government of Pakistan has decided to make the assets of civil servants from Grade 17 and above publicly accessible, in line with a key condition set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Following approval from the President, the Civil Servants (Amendment) Act 2025 has been officially notified via gazette.
According to the notification, all federal officers are now required to digitally declare their own and their family members’ assets—both domestic and international. These details will be made publicly available through the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to ensure transparency.
A digital filing system has been launched, aimed at enhancing transparency in official records.
Moreover, the notification also ensures that officers’ data will remain protected and confidential.
The Establishment Division has sent copies of the gazette notification to all federal ministries and divisions for immediate implementation of the amended law.
The amendment introduces a new Section 15-A to the Civil Servants Act of 1973, mandating all officers to annually submit details regarding their financial status, properties, and other assets.
The Civil Servants (Amendment) Act, 2025, primarily focuses on enhancing transparency and public access to the asset declarations of senior government officials in Pakistan.
