Peshawar to suspend mobile services on 9th and 10th Muharram amid tight security
As part of heightened security measures for Muharram, authorities have decided to suspend mobile phone services in Peshawar on the 9th and 10th of Muharram to ensure public safety.
According to a police spokesperson, the suspension will begin today (8th Muharram) after Friday prayers and will remain in effect until 10pm on the night of Ashura (Sunday).
The spokesperson said the decision aims to strengthen security along the routes of religious processions, enhance surveillance in sensitive areas, and prevent any potential untoward incidents.
In addition to the mobile service suspension, security agencies will be closely monitoring processions using drone cameras, CCTV systems, and other advanced technologies.
