Anti-encroachment drive resumes along Swat River; 40 structures demolished

The anti-encroachment operation along the Swat River has resumed following the recent tragedy, with over 40 illegal structures demolished so far. The district administration and local authorities are leading the crackdown, vowing to take legal action against all violators.

According to officials, temporary rooms in the private township of former governor Haji Ghulam Ali have also been demolished. Additionally, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Saleem Rehman’s wedding hall has been served a four-hour notice to vacate the premises.

Four individuals were arrested on the spot for resisting the operation. The district administration reiterated that no political or social affiliation would be allowed to obstruct the enforcement of the law.

Search for missing boy enters sixth day

Meanwhile, the search operation for the boy who went missing in the Swat River continues for the sixth consecutive day. Rescue agencies are employing modern methods, including drone-assisted life jacket delivery drills, to enhance emergency response capabilities.

Flash floods reported in several Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts

Heavy rains in Nowshera, Swabi, Shangla, and Haripur have triggered flash floods in streams and seasonal nullahs. According to the Meteorological Department, a low-level flood has been reported in some rivers, and alerts have been issued for low-lying areas.

The district administration has urged residents to avoid building or residing near riverbanks and to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
