Islamabad Traffic Police issues special plan for today
The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has issued a special traffic plan for the 6th Muharram procession to ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic during the religious event.
According to an ITP official, the procession will begin from Street 22 and culminate at Imambargah Jafriya in Sector I-9/1. In view of the procession, the service road adjacent to I-9/1 will remain closed to all types of traffic for the duration of the event.
To minimize inconvenience for commuters, the public has been advised to use alternate routes such as IJP Road and Warsak Road near I-9 Markaz. Additionally, Street 18 and the service road near Imambargah I-9/1 will also be closed to vehicular movement.
Citizens are encouraged to use Mangal Bazaar Road and IJP Principal Road as alternate routes to ensure smooth traffic flow during the procession.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Captain (R) Zeeshan Haider urged the public to avoid illegal parking along the procession route and ensure that vehicles are parked only in designated areas.
He also appealed to citizens to cooperate with traffic police and adhere to instructions to help maintain safety and order throughout the event.
