Gold prices soar for second straight day, up by over Rs6,000
Gold prices in Pakistan surged dramatically for the second consecutive day on Tuesday, pushing the precious metal further out of reach for many amid rising inflation and global uncertainty.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold per tola jumped by Rs6,600, reaching Rs356,800.
Similarly, 10 grams of 24K gold rose by Rs5,658, now priced at Rs305,898.
Meanwhile, 10 grams of 22-karat gold saw an increase of Rs5,186, bringing the rate up to Rs280,416.
Prices of silver also saw a notable rise. Per tola silver increased by Rs52, reaching Rs3,834, while 10 grams of silver climbed by Rs45 to Rs3,287.
The surge follows a significant rise in the international gold market, where the price of gold increased by $66 per ounce, bringing it to $3,348 per ounce.
It is worth noting that just a day earlier, the price of 24K gold had risen by Rs800 per tola, reaching Rs350,200 — making today’s spike one of the sharpest in recent months.
