The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to announce the national T20 squad later this week for the upcoming tours of Bangladesh and the West Indies.

The green shirts are set to play three T20 Internationals in Bangladesh, followed by a three-match T20I and ODI series in the Caribbean.

Preparations for both tours are currently underway, and according to sources, the T20 squad is not expected to undergo major changes.

Key players Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi are unlikely to be part of the squad for these series.

Notably, young spinner Sufiyan Muqeem is expected to be included in the T20 lineup, signalling a focus on grooming emerging talent.

The T20 squad’s training camp is scheduled to begin on July 7 in Karachi.

Meanwhile, in light of preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup, the PCB has proposed to the West Indies Cricket Board that the three scheduled ODIs be converted into T20 matches.

As of now, the West Indies board has not responded to the proposal.

If the format change is approved, a combined squad for both tours will be announced.

However, if the ODIs remain on schedule, the PCB will announce additional players specifically for the ODI series.

A final confirmation on squad composition and match formats is expected in the coming days.
