Heavy rains are expected to persist across Sindh today, prompting the Met Office to issue alerts for Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Thatta, and Badin due to anticipated severe rainfall. Authorities warn of potential flooding in low-lying areas, which could disrupt urban life.

In the last 24 hours, various cities in Sindh have experienced significant rainfall. Mithi recorded the highest at 53 millimeters, followed by Tharparkar with 45 millimeters, Nawabshah at 49 millimeters, and Hyderabad with 43 millimeters.

Other areas reported 37 millimeters in Chhor, 26 millimeters in Tando Jam, and 24 millimeters in Mirpurkhas.

In Karachi, the rains have led to considerable waterlogging. Intermittent showers were observed in different parts of the city, with Gulshan-e-Hadeed recording the most at 17 millimeters.

Faisal Base received 12 millimeters, University Road 11 millimeters, and the airport 9 millimeters. Gadap, Korangi, DHA, and North Karachi reported 8 millimeters, while Kemari received 6 millimeters, and Surjani and Jinnah Terminal recorded 5 millimeters.

The Met Office has advised residents to exercise caution during the rainfall, avoid low-lying areas, and stay alert to handle any emergency situations.
