Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the economic team and coalition partners for their efforts in securing the passage of the federal budget for 2025–26 on Friday.

He urged the same level of unity and dedication to continue driving Pakistan’s economic development.

He told members of the Senate and National Assembly that national progress now demands collective, tireless work.

“We must all work together day and night for Pakistan’s economic progress. I firmly believe that this exemplary unity will ensure Pakistan’s economic uplift,” he said.

He commented on regional matters and declared that Pakistan had achieved a significant victory in response to India’s recent unprovoked aggression.

Also, PM Sharif said the armed forces, political leadership, public, civil society, and media collectively thwarted hostile intentions and strengthened Pakistan’s international standing.

He appreciated the efforts of the diplomatic delegation led by Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Moreover, he stated that the delegation effectively presented Pakistan’s case to the world and exposed India’s hostile agenda.

He noted that overseas Pakistanis warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed deep appreciation for the country’s diplomatic and military success.

Prime Minister Sharif expressed solidarity with Iran in the wake of recent Israeli aggression. He said that the government stood with the Iranian leadership and people at every stage of the crisis.

“I remained in constant contact with President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian throughout the situation,” he added.

He expressed hope that the resolution of tensions between Iran and Israel would open the door to regional peace and prosperity.

Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani, members of the federal cabinet, and lawmakers from both houses of parliament attended the meeting.
