The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will hold an important meeting tomorrow, Thursday, June 26, after Asr prayers at the DC Office on Sariab Road, Quetta, to determine the sighting of the crescent moon marking the start of Muharram 1447 Hijri.

The session will be presided over by Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the committee.

The official announcement regarding the beginning of the new Islamic year will be made after reviewing moon sighting testimonies from across the country.

In addition to the central meeting, zonal Ruet-e-Hilal committees will convene simultaneously in other provincial capitals, including at Kohsar Block, Islamabad.

If the moon is sighted on June 26, Muharram 1447 Hijri will begin on Friday, June 28, and Ashura the 10th of Muharram will be observed on Wednesday, July 7.
