PM Shehbaz urges diplomacy in call with Iranian president

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephonic conversation with the President of Iran on Tuesday to discuss the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East.

During the call, Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasised the importance of restoring peace in the region through dialogue and diplomacy.

He said Pakistan is closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East and remains committed to supporting regional stability.

The prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s principled support for Iran at all international forums, including the United Nations Security Council.

In response, the Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian, expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its consistent and principled stance, and thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz for his timely outreach and solidarity in a time of regional crisis.
