US President Donald Trump has confirmed that a ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel has been reached and will be fully implemented within the next 24 hours.

According to Trump, Iran will announce its ceasefire first, followed by Israel 12 hours later, effectively ending hostilities between the two nations.

The announcement has already led to Iran beginning the implementation of the ceasefire, while Israeli media also confirmed the agreement is now in effect.

In a statement posted on Truth Social, President Trump urged both countries to honor the ceasefire terms and avoid any violations. His announcement came shortly after Iran launched a retaliatory missile strike on a US military base in Qatar, following an attack on its nuclear facilities.

Trump expressed hope that Iran’s anger had subsided and commended both nations’ leadership for demonstrating “courage, strength, and wisdom” in choosing diplomacy over continued conflict.

“This war could have lasted years and devastated the Middle East,” Trump said, praising the ceasefire as a major step toward stability. He concluded his statement with a blessing for Israel, the Middle East, and the United States.

Iran confirms ceasefire implementation

Iran has officially halted all military operations as part of the ceasefire deal with Israel, according to Iranian Foreign Minister. He stated that all military activities ceased at 4:00am Tehran time and emphasized that Iran is fully committed to the truce as long as Israel refrains from any further aggression.

Senior Iranian diplomat Abbas Araghchi reiterated Iran’s commitment to peace, stating, “We have acted responsibly; now the decision lies with Israel.” He also thanked Iran’s armed forces for their preparedness during the crisis.

Iranian officials confirmed that the ceasefire was facilitated through Qatari mediation. According to reports, President Trump and Vice President JD Vance held direct talks with the Emir of Qatar to help broker the deal.

The Qatari Prime Minister later contacted Tehran, which agreed to the proposal, marking a significant diplomatic breakthrough.

Despite the ceasefire, US Vice President JD Vance expressed continued concern about Iran’s nuclear program.
