PM Sharif expresses concern over escalating Middle East tensions following missile attack

He reaffirms his strong support for Qatar in its efforts to achieve peace and stability

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has engaged in separate telephonic calls with the ambassadors of Qatar and Saudi Arabia following the missile attack on the US military base in Qatar by Iran.

He expressed significant concern over the rising tensions in the Middle East, especially regarding this incident, and emphasized Pakistan’s solidarity with the Qatari government and its citizens during this difficult time.

He reiterated that Pakistan stands firmly with Qatar in its pursuit of peace and stability, highlighting the importance of reducing regional tensions and fostering sustainable peace.

In response, the Qatari ambassador expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s support. In a separate discussion, PM Sharif spoke with Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki to address ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at ensuring peace and stability in the region.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining close ties and consultation with Saudi leadership.

The Saudi ambassador commended Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting peace and security in the Middle East and assured ongoing cooperation among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar in these challenging times. Both nations agreed to continue their close collaboration for regional peace.
