Following Iranian missile strikes targeting a US military base in Qatar, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has suspended its flight operations to Doha, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Dubai, citing security concerns in the Gulf region.

According to the airline’s spokesperson, the decision was made in light of the escalating conflict in the Middle East. “The suspension of flights is a precautionary measure due to the ongoing war-like situation in the Gulf countries,” the spokesperson stated. “Operations will resume once conditions return to normal.”

The development comes after Iran launched ballistic missile attacks on American military installations in Qatar and Iraq. According to US media reports, six ballistic missiles were fired toward Qatar by Iranian forces.

In response, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the US military’s Al-Udeid Air Base had been evacuated as a preemptive security measure. Qatar also claimed that one of the missiles aimed at the base was intercepted and destroyed by its air defence system.

The situation has raised serious concerns about aviation safety and regional stability, prompting multiple airlines, including PIA, to review their flight schedules in and out of the affected Gulf states.
