Two robbers killed by accomplices during police encounter: CCD spokesperson

Two robbers were shot and killed by their own accomplices during a police encounter on Monday in Vehari, aCrime Control Department (CCD) spokesperson said.

The incident occurred after a robbery was reported through the police helpline 15.

The complainant, Amjad, informed authorities that four armed men had snatched Rs16,000 from him and fled in a vehicle.

CCD teams pursued the suspects, leading to an exchange of gunfire initiated by the fleeing robbers.

When the firing stopped, police discovered two of the suspects dead at the scene.

They were later identified as Ikram Masih and Shabir Hussain.

Authorities recovered two pistols from the site, while the remaining two suspects managed to escape.

According to the CCD, the group was involved in over 50 criminal cases, including robbery, theft, and other offenses.
