UK PM advises Trump to ‘keep a cool head’ on Iran strike plan
Amid reports of possible US strikes against Iran, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer urged de-escalation and restraint.
In a message aimed at US President Donald Trump, Starmer advised him to “keep a cool head” amidst rising tensions in the Middle East.
Speaking to international broadcasters about the deteriorating situation in the region, Starmer stressed that “all parties must step back” from confrontation, stating that escalation serves no one’s interest.
“We, like many others, are deeply concerned about Iran’s nuclear ambitions,” Starmer said.
“While we recognise Israel’s right to self-defence, it is equally important to prevent the conflict from spreading and to avoid further damage to the global economy.”
