Tensions in the Middle East have escalated sharply as the United States and Israel appear to be nearing decisive air strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

According to a report by The New York Times, the Trump administration is preparing to deploy a 30,000-pound bunker-buster bomb against Iran’s underground Fordow nuclear reactor — one of the country’s most fortified sites.

In parallel, The Times of Israel reports that Israel has marked at least 10 high-value nuclear-related targets in Tehran, including strategic installations, military command centres, and government infrastructure.

Israeli defence officials assert the planned operation will rely on air superiority to ensure the precision and success of the strikes.

US President Donald Trump has reportedly alerted the Situation Room, ordering the National Security Council to remain on full-time standby, signalling the possibility of imminent military action.

Sources suggest the attack, if launched, will be carried out using B-2 stealth bombers, the only aircraft capable of delivering the GBU-57.

China has condemned Trump’s actions, accusing him of pouring fuel on the fire of the Israel-Iran conflict and warning of dangerous consequences for regional stability.

Ahead of any potential strikes, Israeli authorities have hinted at issuing evacuation warnings to civilians in Tehran and surrounding areas.

President Trump has already publicly advised Iranian citizens to evacuate the capital, further heightening fears of escalation.

Israeli sources claim the planned assault includes the assassination of Iran’s newly appointed military chief and the destruction of command centres in Tehran.

Analysts warn that these developments could push the Middle East to the edge of a major regional war.
