Karachi faces severe heatwave as temperature reaches 40°C
Karachi is experiencing a severe heatwave, with temperatures rising to 40 degrees Celsius and a heat index nearing 46 degrees Celsius.
The Met office reports that the southwesterly winds blowing at 15 kilometres per hour, with humidity levels at 35 per cent.
This extreme weather is expected to continue until tomorrow.
They also indicated that sea breezes are anticipated to resume by tomorrow evening, potentially providing slight relief from the heat.
In light of the extreme temperatures, health experts are advising residents to take necessary precautions.
They recommend minimizing outdoor activities, safeguarding against sun exposure, and ensuring adequate hydration by drinking plenty of water.
