Heatwave hits Islamabad, Lahore and Sindh; residents brace for high temperatures
Weather conditions in Pakistan are marked by a stark contrast between intense heat in some regions and pleasant rain in others.
Residents of Islamabad, Lahore, and much of Sindh are bracing for high temperatures and humidity, creating challenging conditions, today.
Yesterday’s rainfall provided a refreshing change in several areas. Swat, particularly in Mingora, Malam Jabba, and Kalam, experienced torrential rain that led to flooding, while other cities in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan also faced significant downpours.
In Balochistan’s Kohlu district and surrounding areas, thunderstorms brought significant rainfall, causing flooding in low-lying regions of the Mowand tehsil.
In Karachi, a respite from the oppressive heat arrived with rain falling in areas such as Gadap, Kathore, Northern Bypass, Malir Memon Goth, and Malir Cantt.
Lahore has been under cloudy skies for the past two days, with cool morning breezes giving way to rising humidity by the afternoon.
In Sahiwal, intermittent rainfall has effectively mitigated the ongoing heatwave over the last two days.
The Met Office predicts a mix of sunshine and rain across various parts of the country in the next 24 hours.
