KP Govt to equalize police salaries with Punjab police
In a significant move towards police reforms, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to bring the salaries of its police personnel in line with those of the Punjab Police, sources revealed.
According to official sources, the salaries of officers from Grade 1 to 16 will be directly matched with their counterparts in Punjab.
For officers in Grade 17 and above, a special allowance increase is also under active consideration.

As part of the new budget, the KP government plans to allocate Rs16 billion specifically to enhance police capacity in the tribal districts.
The funds will be used to equip the police with modern weaponry, advanced training, and improved infrastructure.

Inspector-General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Zulfiqar Hameed welcomed the decision, calling it a much-needed morale boost for the force.
“The KP Police has been at the frontline in the war against terrorism. Aligning salaries with Punjab Police will further motivate our personnel,” he said.
He also highlighted that the additional budget would strengthen police presence in the tribal areas, allowing for the acquisition of modern arms and ensuring better law and order.
The move is being hailed as a major step in KP’s broader efforts to reform the police force and improve security conditions across the province.
Experts view it as a progressive policy to ensure parity, professionalism, and preparedness in the face of security challenges.
