In a move aimed at expanding gas access across the country, the government has finalised a plan to provide around 116,000 new gas connections in the upcoming fiscal year, despite the prevailing shortage of natural gas.

According to budget documents, 115,530 new domestic gas connections will be issued during the next fiscal year.

Additionally, the government has set a target of providing gas connections to 550 commercial and 350 industrial consumers.
