MQM decides to stage protest during budget session in Sindh Assembly
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement has decided to stage a strong protest during the provincial assembly’s budget session scheduled for Friday, according to party sources.
Speaking to Aaj News, Opposition Leader Ali Khursheedi criticised the Sindh government for a lack of transparency in budget preparation. He stated that the provincial administration has yet to share any details regarding the upcoming budget with the opposition.
“The government has not engaged opposition parties in any consultation on the provincial budget,” Khursheedi said, adding that MQM lawmakers have been instructed to voice their concerns during the session.
Khursheedi also revealed that MQM is in contact with members of the Jamaat-e-Islami and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to evolve a possible united stance in the assembly.
