Gwadar becomes leading tourist destination amid Eid holiday surge
Gwadar, the coastal city of Balochistan, has rapidly emerged as a top tourist destination, thanks to its natural beauty, pristine beaches, and peaceful atmosphere. During the recent Eid holidays, the city has experienced an unprecedented surge in visitors.
Tourists from nearby regions, including Turbat, Pasni, Ormara, Panjgur, and Karachi, flocked to Gwadar to enjoy the festive break.
The Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) has played a key role in transforming the city’s coastline into a modern tourist attraction.
Under its initiatives, several beaches have been upgraded with contemporary infrastructure, lush green parks, children’s play areas, well-lit walkways, and scenic sitting spaces.
These developments have significantly enhanced the visual appeal of Gwadar’s beaches, turning them into inviting spots for both families and solo travelers.
On the instructions of GDA Director General Saifullah Khetran, dedicated teams remained active throughout the Eid holidays to ensure cleanliness, security, and the smooth provision of public services.

Authorities took special measures at parks, beaches, and other public areas to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for visitors.
On the second day of Eid, local social organizations organized a traditional Eid fair at Koh-e-Batil, drawing large crowds.
In the evening, the GDA hosted special recreational events for women and children at the GDA Model Park Beach, where attendees enjoyed music, games, and entertainment in a family-friendly setting.
The influx of tourists also boosted local businesses. Markets saw increased activity, with many visitors eager to buy local products.

Gwadar’s famous traditional sweet, Gwaderi Halwa, became a favorite among tourists.
With growing tourist interest and strategic planning by the GDA, Gwadar is quickly positioning itself not just as a key trade and economic hub, but also as one of Pakistan’s most promising recreational destinations.
