A malfunctioning ICU lift in the surgical ward of Hyderabad’s Civil Hospital led to a distressing incident on June 8, as four individuals, along with a deceased body, were trapped inside.

According to reports, the deceased had succumbed to injuries sustained in an accident two days earlier.

Family members were using the lift to transport the body from the ward, the elevator abruptly stopped working mid-descent.

Those trapped inside called out for help, but hospital staff failed to respond immediately.
