COAS celebrates Eid with troops on LoC, reaffirms support for Kashmir cause
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), spent Eid-ul-Azha with frontline troops deployed along the Line of Control (LoC), in a show of solidarity and appreciation for their service.
The visit began with Eid prayers, where special supplications were offered for Pakistan’s lasting peace, stability, and prosperity. Prayers were also made for the martyrs who laid down their lives in defence of the nation.

Extending warm Eid greetings to the officers and soldiers, the COAS lauded their commitment and professionalism. “Celebrating Eid on the frontline away from their families serves the superior national purpose of defending the motherland at all costs throughout the year,” he said.

He praised the formation’s role in various operations, including Marqa-e-Haq and Operation Bunyaanum Marsoos, and paid tribute to the martyrs and Ghazis. “You have befittingly avenged the loss of lives of innocent Pakistani civilians including children, women and elderly through your bold and effective response,” the Army Chief remarked.

During his interaction with the troops, the COAS commended their high morale, operational readiness, and vigilance in countering Indian ceasefire violations. He reiterated his “complete confidence in the battle preparedness of the Armed Forces to decisively deter and defeat any act of aggression.”

Underscoring Pakistan’s principled stance, the COAS said the “just and valiant struggle of the Kashmiri people against Indian occupation will never be forgotten.” He stressed the importance of resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of its people and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
