Over two men were arrested on a charge of assaulting an elderly man after the video of that incident went viral on social media.

According to police spokesman, District Police Officer (DPO) Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada, taking notice of a disturbing video showing an elderly man being assaulted, went viral on social media.

The DPO directed SP Paharpur Muhammad Irfan Khan and DSP Paharpur Noor Haider Khan to apprehend the culprits without any delay.

Following these instructions, the DSP Paharpur and his team launched a prompt operation and successfully arrested two suspects, including Furqan Ali, son of Abid and Shahzaib, son of Mureed Hussain.

According to police, one of the suspects was directly involved in the assault, while the other one allegedly filmed the incident.

DPO Sahibzada said that the Dera police were committed to protecting citizens’ lives and dignity, stating that such acts of violence would not be tolerated and those responsible would face the full force of the law.
