TikToker Sana Yousaf murder: Alleged killer rented a Fortuner but failed to pay rent
The prime suspect in the Tiktoker Sana Yousaf murder case, Umar Hayat, has confessed to the crime during police interrogation and disclosed the motive behind the murder.
According to the investigation, Hayat traveled from Faisalabad to Islamabad in a rented Toyota Fortuner.
He attempted to meet Yousaf twice, first on May 29, then on June 2, but she refused to see him both occasions.
Sources revealed that Hayat failed to pay the rental fee for the vehicle.
After his arrest, the owner of the rental company contacted police during the investigation and filed a claim for the unpaid amount.
During Yousaf’s birthday, Hayat arrived with gifts and a cake to meet her; however, when she refused, he became enraged and, allegedly driven by anger and rejection, killed her.
Hayat fled the scene after committing the crime as he initially booked a bike ride but later switched to a taxi midway through the journey, which took him to the main bus terminal in Islamabad.
From there, he traveled back to Faisalabad.
In his initial statement to the police, Hayat expressed that he was deeply upset over the victim’s refusal to meet him and claimed that he had murdered in a moment of emotional distress.
Police arrested a suspect in the case on Tuesday in Faisalabad, with the help of CCTV footage.
